Volunteer Recruitment - SalvAide
SalvAide is a Canadian based NGO that works on human rights and democratic
development with the people of El Salvador. Started during El Salvador's
long and devastating war, SalvAide has helped countless communities rebuild
after the war and continues to do so. SalvAide works with 2 key partners in
El Salvador and all development work that is done is done through the
request of the communities in El Salvador.
SalvAide has several volunteer committees across the country, including
Ottawa. Volunteers participate in public awareness and education about El
Salvador as well as work on fundraising. Last October SalvAide hosted its
first dinner auction, a successful event that raised funds that directly
went into projects for youth in El Salvador.
The Ottawa volunteer committee is currently recruiting new members.
Volunteers could get involved in any number of ways from doing media
outreach to public presentations or events planning. We are looking for
people with diverse skills and with an interest in working in solidarity
with the people of El Salvador.
We are holding two volunteer information and training sessions on Saturday
February 27, 1999 from 10 am to 1 pm and on Wednesday March 3 from 6:30 pm
to 9:30 pm. Both of these sessions will be held at the Bronson Centre, 211
Bronson Avenue, Ottawa Room 204. Volunteers interested in getting involved
with SalvAide are invited to attend one of these two meetings for further
information.
If you have any questions or would like to attend the session contact
Jennifer Williams at 233-6215 and leave a message or you can email me
directly at williams@storm.ca.

We look forward to working with you, in support of the people of El Salvador.
