MEHRVARZAN ENSEMBLE was established in Toronto in 1994
to present traditional music of Iran and to broaden
its appeal among a young audience. A strong belief
that Iranian music has cross-cultural appeal, the
group has strived to integrate other traditions into
its creative life. 

The music of Mehrvarzan features  vocalist MEHRI
HADJARIAN; percussionist ROUZBEN HARIRI on tombak and
daf; tar (lute) player SHAHROKH SAEEDI; and Pirouz
Yousefian on santour (hammered dulcimer).
