[OPIRG-EVENTS] Reminder: Ottawa-Outaouais Social Forum General Meeting Tonight!

Salutations à tous,

Comme vous le savez peut-être ou peut-être pas, on a déjà commencé à travailler 
à l’organisation du Forum social Ottawa-Outaouais (FSOO) : Un carnaval 
communautaire pour le changement qui evrait se tenir du 2 au 4 mai.

Ne croyez surtout pas que nous voulons vous tenir à l’écart, mes ami-e-s, car 
il y aura une DEUXIÈME RÉUNION DE PLANIFICATION GÉNÉRALE pour le forum à 18 h 
30, le lundi 17 février à la Salle du conseil Wylie de l’immeuble de l’AFPC 
(233, rue Gilmour).

Pour avoir plus de renseignements sur la rencontre, veuillez communiquer avec 
Simone ou Kevin au 728-7225.  Une fois de plus, des services de garde sont 
prévus pour les mamans et les papas et vous devez réserver vos places auprès 
d’Angela : 997-1059/230-0684.  Vous êtes tous les bienvenus si vous désirez 
participer au processus.

La première réunion de planification a eu lieu le 20 janvier et a rassemblé une 
cinquantaine de personnes enthousiastes aux antécédents et affiliations variés 
qui ont procédé à un premier échange d’idées. Après les présentations et une 
séance d’information, les participants en petits groupes ont discuté des 
objectifs du FSOO et des événements qui pourraient éventuellement permettre de 
les atteindre. Les commentaires des participants ont permis de procéder à la 
formation initiale d’un Comité organisateur et de plusieurs sous-comités : 
Communications/Sensibilisation, Nourriture, Logistique, Comité francophone et 
Levée de fonds.

En plus de travailler à la planification, on s’attend à ce que les gens et les 
organismes commencent également à penser au contenu du Forum, qu’il s’agisse de 
présentations, d’ateliers, de séminaires de croissance ou de présentations 
artistiques/créatives. Ce Forum vous appartient ! La deuxième réunion de 
planification nous permettra de poursuivre notre démarche de visualisation pour 
déterminer la teneur du forum, d’écouter le rapport du Comité organisateur etc.

Greetings all,

As you may or may not know, organizing has begun for the Ottawa-Outaouais 
Social Forum (OOSF): A Community Carnival for Change with a proposed date of 
May 2-4th.

But don't think you've been left behind, friends, as a SECOND GENERAL PLANNING 
MEETING for the forum will be happening at 6:30 pm on Monday, February 17th in 
the Wylie Boardroom of the PSAC building (233 Gilmour St.).

For more information about the meeting, contact Simone/Kevin at 728-7225. Once 
again, there will be childcare offered, so moms and dads should rsvp with 
Angela: 997-1059/230-0684.  All are welcome to be part of the process.

The first planning meeting took place on Jan. 20th and saw about 50 enthused 
people, with different backgrounds and affiliations, come together for a first 
exchange of ideas!  After introductions and a backgrounder, breakout groups 
discussed objectives for the OOSF and possible forum events that might achieve 
them.  Feedback from attendees allowed for the initial formation of an 
Organizing Committee along with these subcommittees: Communications/Outreach, 
Food, Logistics, Comité Francophone and Fundraising.

Along with the planning process, individuals and organizations are encouraged 
to start thinking about any content they might want to bring to the forum, 
including but not limited to presentations, workshops, skill-building seminars 
and artistic/creative presentations.  Make it your forum!  The 2nd planning 
meeting will continue the visioning process of content for the forum, have a 
report from the Organizing Committee and more.
