** OTTAWA-OUTAOUAIS SOCIAL FORUM **
A Community Carnival for Change!

Next Community Meeting

When: Monday, March 10th  at  7:00pm 
Where: Jack Purcell Community Centre – 320 Elgin St.
(south of Gilmour on Jack Purcell Lane)

All are welcome!  Share your ideas for the forum, give
your input and eat some snacks.  Find out what the
committees are doing (and join!) and what is being
planned for the program thus far.  We will be going
over the proposed structure and decision-making
document (posted on the website soon). In groups, we
will be discussing concepts for the large forum
sessions and possible workshop ideas. So lively
yourself up and get on that forum train, brothers and
sisters!

The OOSF will bring together progressive people and
groups to share and explore creative ways to engage in
social justice issues, promote sustainability and
strengthen our community.  It is planned for May
2nd-4th, 2003, and we are making a call-out now for
workshop / event / presentation submissions.  Make it
your forum!

The Social Forum will engage participants around the
following themes:  

- Linking Local and Global Action
- Participating, Sharing & Shaping Alternatives
- Healthy Environment, Healthy People
- Claiming our Human Rights: A Region free from
Poverty, Discrimination and Injustice
- Celebrating Arts and Culture and their role in Change

idées pour le forum, donnez vos commentaires et mangez
des collations. Informez-vous des activités des comités
(et joignez-vous!) et que planifier à present.  Nous
avons revoir le document proposée sur le structure et
le procédé pour faire des decisions (affiché sur le
site du web bientôt).  Dans des groupes, nous avons
discuter des concepts pour les grandes sessions du
forum et des idées pour ateliers possible.  Animez-vous
et mettez votre grain de sel, frères et soeurs!

Ls FSOO sera un point de rencontre pour les personnes
et groupes aux idées progressistes et sera une occasion
d'explorer comment s'engager dans la justice sociale,
le développement durable et renforcer notre communauté.
 Il est planifiée pour le 2 au 4 mai, 2003, et nous
publions un appel d’offres pour les ateliers, les
événements et les présentations. Ce forum le vôtre!

Le Forum social engagera les participants en fonction
des thèmes suivants :
- Liens entre l’action locale et l’action mondiale
- Participation, partage et préparation de solutions
- Un environnement en santé, des gens en santé
- À la défense de nos droits de la personne : une
région où la discrimination, la pauvreté et l’injustice
n’ont pas leur place
- Célébrons les arts et la culture et leur rôle dans
l’instauration d’un changement
