[OPIRG-EVENTS] Can you help for the IWD peace march on March 8th?
Please forward:
As many of you know, March 8th is International
Women's Day and there is a International Women's day
Peace march starting at 11:30, at Minto Park (Elgin
and Gilmour), at the Women's monument.
We have a draft program for tomorrows International
Women's Day Peace march and the program involves
surrounding the US embassy. We are trying to assign
helpers to one of the seven 'areas' around the embassy
in small teams of leafleters, signs about marchers
around the world, Bullhorn operators, code pink
emergency supplies, buckets drum distributers,
donation collection boxes, and noise makers.
Anyone who can help out with literature, donations,
distributing instruments/noise makers, holding a sign
representing one of the continents of marches, etc OR
any other groups with an activity or idea planned
please send one person to Starbucks, yes Starbucks at
10:15am across from the starting point at the park on
Elgin. (Where you can join those having coffee and
those having an 'occupying' the star bucks with our
homebrewed fair trade coffee action.) There we will
give you a map with your corner of the embassy, your
team and a sketch of the march.
The program involves surrounding the embassy and we
will have maps and are trying to assign helpers to one
of the seven 'areas' around the embassy in small teams
of leafleters and, signs about marchers around the
world, Bullhorn operators, pink emergency supplies,
buckets drums, donation collection boxes, and noise
makers to distribute.
Thank-you very much!
