Problem to be solved

SurfServer currently offers a virtual email domain redirection service as part of their virtual web server server. If a customer does not already have an email account, the customer or SurfServer must obtain one for them and then redirect email to that account.

The complication for SurfServer to provide the accounts directly is that two customers could not have identical named email boxes. This is because the underlying technology is Unix login identifications, and it assumes that all users are in the same domain. The current virtual email domain software permits different identically named accounts in different domains to exist: the email is always forwarded to some other unique account.
