All current virtual web server customers have unique IP addresses assigned to them. The same technology that allows virtual web servers (IP aliases) can allow for virtual email hosts. The email software simply needs to be taught how to switch password and spool files based on the address that the user connects to.
Of popular, Unix based, email server packages, none support this option at present. The changes required are usually quite small though. The question is which email package to base things on.
