"Under Occupation: Palestine, Iraq and Canada"

Tuesday, 26 August, 7:00 to 10:00 pm
Ottawa Public Library (Laurier and Metcalfe)

This interactive discussion will feature presentations from speakers 
recently returned from working with peace teams in Baghdad, Grassy 
Narrows and the West Bank and raw video footage from the three 
occupied regions, followed by a discussion moderated by Bill Skidmore.

Panelists:

Zehira Houfani (TBC). Houfani, a Montreal writer and member of the 
Iraq Solidarity Project, has just arrived back from Iraq and will 
report on life under the occupation for Iraqis. Houfani was in Iraq 
with the Iraq Peace Team during the invasion.

Leila Moanmar. A Palestinian born in the Canadian state, Moanmar 
recently participated in an International Solidarity Movement - 
Montreal delegation to Grassy Narrows, Ontario, an indigenous 
community resisting logging and continued destruction of their lands.

Colin Stuart, "Matrix of control." Stuart will relate his recent 
experiences in the West Bank with the Christian Peacemaker Teams to 
his own background as a member of a settler family in Canada.

Admission is free. Refreshments will be served.
